Inner Strength

This week our focus is strength - physical, mental and spiritual.

We all go to AAY! BootCamp to continue to develop our strength through exercise, good nutrition, social interaction and mental focus.

Simply taking that 60-90 minutes per day to focus on YOURSELF is so powerful! Challenging yourself to push harder than you have before, or to learn a new skill (such as kickboxing or football!) can give you a new perspective on the untapped strength that lies dormant within you!

Tell us what specifically YOU are doing this week to develop your strength.

  1. I'm developing my strength in a new way by cycling with the Sunday cycling group. Before we started the group last week, I had not ridden a bicycle in about 5 years! This is a great way to work on my cardiovascular strength without aggravating my knees & ankles that have been bothering me. Today, Myra & I did a short run after the cycling...perhaps one of these days we will train for a biathlon or even a triathlon! The possibilities are endless!

  2. In addition to going to AAY BootCamp this week, I plan on practicing the drums for at least 20-40 minutes per day--which is much longer than I usually practice. Not only will I become a better drummer, it will be an accomplishment for me to say that I practiced that long each day when I get to the end of the week:)

  3. Good for you Beth! All that drumming has got to make your arms strong & sexy too!

  4. In addition to using the "blue band" this week during strength training, I will be using the stairs in the parking structure instead of the elevator.

  5. I am going to boot camp 5 days a week plus doing the fabulous hikes on Saturdays. My eyes are turning green from all the veggies I eat...

Thanks for keeping us on the right path and for the encouragement everyday.
