RECIPE: Ahi Tuna Sesame Ginger Salad

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 1/4 lb. ahi tuna
  • 2 watermelon radishes (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup sugar snap peas
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3/4 tablespoon sesame oil1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • ½ tablespoon olive oil
  • black sesame seeds
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Marinate the ahi tuna in a mixture of the soy sauce, lemon juice, and sesame oil for a few hours, if possible, but no less than 10 minutes.
  2. Thinly slice the radishes with a mandolin if you have one. Otherwise slice as thinly as possible with a knife.
  3. Mix rice vinegar, olive oil, soy sauce, grated ginger and a touch of lemon juice together for the ginger dressing.
  4. Sear ahi tuna in a hot pan one or two minutes on each side leaving the middle raw.
  5. Allow the ahi to cool and then cut into small bite-size pieces. 
  6. Combine tuna, radish, snap peas and sesame seeds in a bowl and then add the dressing to the mix distributing evenly.
  7. Serve on a small plate and enjoy!
