Stop Yo-Yo Dieting

Did you know that close to 90% of people who lose weight on a "diet" gain it back within a year?! And, eventually many of those people will "go on another diet" only to lose & regain yet again!

This is not only frustrating, but unhealthy as well. So what can you do to stop the cycle of yo-yo dieting to finally achieve your goal weight and maintain it for good? 

MAKE IT A LIFESTYLE, NOT AN EVENT 
  • If your focus is to lose weight for a specific event such as a wedding or vacation, then chances are you'll be practicing eating habits that are not sustainable over a long period of time. 
EAT A WIDE VARIETY OF HEALTHFUL FOODS 
  • Include all three macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates and fat), in order to feel satisfied and get all the nutrients your body needs. 
WATCH PORTIONS & CALORIES
  • If your goal is weight loss, it's important that you consume the correct number of calories. Many free apps can calculate your recommended calorie intake and help you track your portions & calories. We like MyFitnessPalbecause it's user friendly and has a vast database. 
CREATE A PLAN
  • Rather than relying on a fad diet, create a Nutrition Plan that works for your lifestyle and food preferences. For a great example of how to format your Nutrition Plan, view the AAY! Basic Nutrition Plan.
